The wind sensor that charges itself
Apparent wind angle and speed, compass heading, heel and pitch. Solar powered, Bluetooth, no cable down the mast.

Measured on the mast, calculated in the app
- Measured: apparent wind angle and speed, compass heading, heel and pitch
- Calculated with phone GPS: true wind angle, speed and direction, VMG, course and speed over ground
- Shared: broadcast mode lets several phones, watches and displays read at the same time
- Forwarded: NMEA 0183 over UDP to OpenCPN, iSailor and other apps

Nothing to rust, nothing to leak
OpenWind lives on the masthead all season, so it is built without the weak spots of classic wind instruments.
Full-ceramic
The anemometer turns on full-ceramic ball bearings. They don't rust in salt water and keep spinning freely in light air.
Potted in epoxy
All electronics, battery included, are sealed in epoxy. No gaskets, no openings, nothing for water to creep into.
Solar and wireless charging
The solar panel keeps it charged on board. Ashore or over winter, you can also top it up on a wireless charger.
Your wind on every screen
Big instruments you can read from the helm, true wind from the phone's GPS, a free depth map with laylines, and a watch app for the start.

Masthead, rail or pole
Use the vertical mast mount on the masthead, the railmount on the pushpit, or a carbon or aluminium supporter for more height.

Fresh bearings in five minutes
The anemometer cap comes with new ball bearings, magnet and screws, an anemometer already mounted and one spare anemometer. The cups are shaped to keep the reading right while the boat heels.
